Mississippi State Supreme Court Allows Daytime Practices

It's a sad fact of two-a-days. Every year, we hear of several high school football players, who die on the practice field.

Last week in Mississippi, Chancery Judge Mitchell Lundey stopped all school-sponored outdoor activities in his court district of DeSoto, Tate, Panola, Yalobusha, Greneda and Montgomery Counties after 17-year old junior linebacker Lonnie Magee of Mount Olive High School collapsed and died during a Wednesday practice.

Friday, the state Supreme Court threw out the judge's order.

Defending state champ and national power South Panola fell under the Judge Lundey's original order and was able to use the University of Mississippi's indoor facilty, but not all teams are that lucky.

What should be done when it comes to heat related issues? Should team hold more practices late in the day? Give us your solutions...or weight-in with your thoughts.
